Samantha went from an incredible 430 to 210 lbs over the course of her five year journey. It included ups and downs, a gastric bypass surgery and many challenges, but she ultimately came out stronger than ever and a completely new version of herself. As she says, “In some ways, I am half the person I used to be, in others I am twice that person.” She was able to make major lifestyle changes, like adopting a high protein, whole-foods based diet, and completely changing the way she ate. She also embraced resistance training 3-4x a week, and adding in low doses of cardio (20-30 min/day).

Along with all of these habits, Coach Grant used nutritional periodization, going between primer, fat loss, diet break and maintenance phases throughout the years. Calories ranged between 1,500 and 2,100 depending on the phase. This was key to ensuring that her metabolism stayed as healthy as possible. They also used in-person assessments to measure her body composition, keeping a close eye on her body composition changes and providing extra motivation.

Samantha ultimately lost over 200 lbs- an absolutely life-changing transformation. And more importantly, she has sustained the results. She went from being warned she’d die before 40, to having two beautiful children, and continues to focus on the healthy habits that helped her reach her goals as well as model that for her kids to this day.
