Coach Matt’s Transformation Journey
MEET COACH MATT
Matt’s passion for fitness started early, lifting weights at home with his first Weider set when he was just 14. While he enjoyed working out, he never took his progress or nutrition seriously—until 2017, when he found himself approaching 40 and in the worst shape of his life. Despite being a regular at the gym, he wasn’t seeing results. One day, Matt saw an ad for the Popeyes Transformation Challenge. Determined to make a change, he decided to fully commit, but he knew he needed guidance to succeed. That’s when he found GFIT Wellness and began working with Coach Anthony Guzzi. Together, they launched into a Fat Loss Phase, where Matt went all-in with his plan—eating clean, training hard, drinking plenty of water, prioritizing sleep, and meal-prepping with discipline. The results were life-changing: over 12 weeks, Matt lost 44 lbs, felt stronger, younger, and more confident than ever. The physical transformation was incredible, but even more impactful was the shift in his mindset. He realized that he could achieve anything he set his mind to.

Coaching Journey and Current Program


Matt continued with GFIT for the rest of the year before moving into a Maintenance Phase, where he successfully managed his progress on his own for the next few years. However, the pandemic brought new challenges, including gym closures and heightened stress, causing him to regain some weight.

In November 2021, Matt reconnected with Coach Guzzi and started another Fat Loss Phase. This time, the process felt easier—his body and mind were primed for the challenge. After another year of focused effort, Matt reached a new level of fitness, feeling stronger, leaner, and happier with his progress.

In 2023, Matt became a GFIT coach, driven to help others experience the same life-changing results he had achieved. For the past year, he has maintained his results in a Maintenance Phase. Recently, Matt handed over the coaching reins to Grant Reid, beginning a new Primer Phase to fine-tune his discipline and prepare for his next transformation.
